How familiar I am with getting the life pulled out of me by just getting too engaged in "activitiy." What I've learned is that these many and varied diversions are quite DIS-tressing, DIS-tracting, DIS-arming and DIS-integrating. That last "DIS..." being one that is far too close to what happens to human relationships, well intended goals we set and finally what happens during the proverbial "dirt nap." Integrity is something that comes by setting our hearts upon the highest goal attainable and pursuing it. You know, the 3 step program...1) Set a goal, 2) Make a plan to reach that goal and 3) Follow up by sticking to the plan in a proactive way (no putting it off...doing it now!) By first of all raising our spiritual consciousness up to the highest and broadest level possible for the amount of neuro-activity we possess (which changes either to a higher/broader level or reduces to a lower/narrower level by what we do or don't do). "Enlarging the heart" is the old phrase meaning an elevation in our spiritual awareness. These types of elevation rarely come in instantaneous "spikes." Rather it takes time to reach these levels. Time and patience. Remember. God is GROWING something here within us that will reflect HIM. And the material that He has to work with is by nature resistant to the "spirit ideas" and "cosmic concepts" which He plants within the soil of our being. Due to our unfortunately weak nature, we will tend to unconciously think up ways to divert our attention from His thoughts by all of those "activity" things. ( I love the way you explained the difference in "activity" and "productivity!!) That's why it seems we all have a little trouble getting jump started into His Word. I try to make it an easier start. Make it worth your time.
